REQUIRED STEPS TO SERVE IN THE BENTON COUNTY DETENTION CENTER

April 8, 2025

 

1.  Complete the Jail Ministry Application and Submit it

2.  Attend the Jail Ministry Orientation class.

3.  Have fingerprints taken at the Jail Clerk’s Office

4.  Complete the hourlong AAC Risk Management Services

    Online Liability Course (May be taken any time during the steps to qualify)

5.  Present in-person proof of identification (NEW)

6.  Take the online Criminal Justice Information Course   

  (CJIS) required by the Dept. of Justice

 

Except for Step 4 All steps must be completed in order.

There are 3 different options to complete this process: Option 1:Only need 1 item from Group A; OR Option 2: Would need 2 items from Group B; OR Option 3: Would need 1 item from Group B and 2 items from Group C

Group A

·         US Passport

·         REAL ID Driver’s License (must have the gold star on the driver’s license

Group B

·         Regular Driver’s License (without the gold star)

·         Concealed Carry License (must be non-expired)

·         State-issued ID

Group C

·         US Military ID(CAC) *No Copies will be made of this document*

·         Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC), also known as a mari

time port security ID

·         US Military Dependent, Retiree, or Privilege Card

·         School ID Card

·         Original or Certified copy of Birth Certificate (must have the seal)

·         Credit/Debit Card Account Statement

·         Native American Tribal Card *No Copies will be made of this document*

·         Permanent Resident Card

·         Utility Account Statement (with applicant’s name on statement)

·         Bank Statement

 

During the Identity Proofing session, we will make color copies of provided each document and each applicant will be required to verify their email address, phone number, or mailing address. It is the quickest to verify their cell phone, so each applicant will need to bring their cell phone with them to the session.

 

If the applicant shows up at the session and does not have the proper documents for

Identity Proof, that session will be cancelled and rescheduled when the applicant can provide the proper identification.
