The Benton County Detention Center is the temporary home for as many as 650 prisoners at any given time.  They are served by a dedicated team of volunteer jail ministers who share their faith with the prisoners, and provide regularly scheduled studies.

Jail ministers are required to submit an application and attend a jail ministry orientation class before serving in the jail.  Additionally, they must have an endorsement from the pastor, priest or other designated ministry authority.  A link to the jail ministry application is in the menu bar to the left.

Though Christianity is the dominant faith represented by the jail ministry, efforts are made to meet the needs of other faiths as well.  We presently have both a Buddhist and a Muslim jail minister who have met the requirements and serve in the Benton County Detention Center.

If you're interested in becoming a jail minister, complete the application and submit it by mail, in person or by email.
